Based on the award-winning Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) platform, Honeywell’s Experion LS system can be used for any size of installation (up to approximately 1200 process loops, five redundant controller pairs and five dual windows operator stations). The system offers a robust historian, controller-based batch sequencing, advanced control features, change control for validated plants and excellent reporting capabilities.
Experion LS is available with redundant controllers and servers for safety-critical processes. Tools to manage and monitor the system are integrated into the solution e.g. memory resources, disk drive space and processor utilisation on the Experion LS nodes are monitored and alarms are activated if they reach critical levels.
Experion LS offers a reliable alarm and event management system. According to Honeywell, “Experion is the first system to include a “from the ground up” open alarm and event system. This alarm supports not only Experion application alarms, events and messages, but also provides full integration with third party alarms and events via OPC.”
The system also offers communication with a wide range of third party devices and drives such as PLCs, weigh scales, SCADA systems, I/O bus options, and motor drives.
