ITS has signed up to Achilles’ Utility Vendor Database (UVDB), allowing it enhanced access to a variety of industries, including the energy, water, nuclear and wind energy sectors.
Achilles is a global leader with over 20 years’ experience in managing supplier information, providing 24/7 web-based services that identify, qualify, evaluate and monitor suppliers on behalf of organisations across the world.
The UVDB system represents a transparent and fair means of selecting suppliers for tender opportunities, whilst making sure that utilities comply with EU procurement legislation. The primary benefits to the participating organisations are effective management of their supply chains and reduced risk, together with improved data quality and consistency.
As a registered supplier, ITS will be directly linked to a network of more than 3,000 potential buyers and 80 sector organisations, and its capability profile made visible to every buyer registered in the relevant regional industry sector. Additionally, by being able to access specialist information on quality requirements, ITS will gain a privileged insight into industry standards that well place it to match and beat the competition.
Achilles is used by the major organisations in the construction, ICT, oil & gas, mining, public sector, transport, and utilities organisations, which have confidence in Achilles’ suppliers because of the organisation’s robust registration and pre-auditing procedures.
Founded in 1990 in Norway and with its UK headquarters in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, Achilles has 30 established supplier management schemes, serving more than 700 of the world’s largest companies and around 70,000 registered suppliers.
By recognising the unique nature of every market, in every sector and region, Achilles offers global expertise and insight at a regional level that takes account of local requirements.
