European Professional Title for ITS’ Engineer

08 November 2011

Senior Project Engineer Martin Cox has built on his Chartered Engineer status and achieved the professional European Engineer (EUR ING) qualification. His name will be added to the exclusive database of European engineers.

The EUR ING title is awarded by the Fédération Européenne d'Associations Nationales d'Ingénieurs (FEANI) and brings together national engineering associations from 31 European countries as national members.  Established in 1951, FEANI aims to promote the recognition, mobility and interests of Europe’s engineering profession.

To achieve the title Martin had to prove his application of engineering knowledge, level of practical skills, robust safety and environmental consciousness, sense of responsibility and good communication ability.

The EUR ING designation is equivalent to national engineering qualifications, such as the Chartered Engineer title, and is a guarantee of professional competence.  Martin’s achievement provides international recognition of his high standard of competence and engineering ability and it further enhances the reputation of the ITS workforce.

This qualification shows that Martin has built on his previous scientific knowledge and First Class Honours engineering degree, and now has proven his competence in the broad engineering arena.   It will allow Martin to be recognised as a first class engineer, across Europe and beyond.

Martin said:  “I believe this achievement demonstrates that both ITS and I are working towards the same goal – delivering the best possible service to our customers.

“The broad range of competencies required for CEng and EUR ING demonstrate our ability to drill down beyond the obvious to fully understand our client’s requirements.  It means we can take a holistic approach to provide a whole system solution, and not just a quick-fix for the immediate problem.”
