ITS Hosts The 61508 Association Legacy Systems’ Working Group Meeting

18th August 2008

ITS is hosting The 61508 Association Legacy Systems’ Working Group Meeting at its Middlesbrough head office on 24th September 2008.

The meeting will focus on the basic principles and guidelines for the review and management of legacy systems, which perform safety-related functions.

The 61508 Association is dedicated to working towards achieving dependable, cost-effective methods for demonstrating compliance with IEC 61508, the international standard for electrical, electronic and programmable electronic safety-related systems.

By working with cross-industry organisations, the Association aims to demonstrate that unsafe practices can be eliminated, HSE and Environment Agency requirements can be made, and significant financial savings made, whilst working towards the primary objective of securing a safer plant.

The 24th September meeting is open to The 61508 Association members.
