Industrial Safety Systems
Industrial Technology Systems Ltd’s (ITS) engineers are experienced in the design and implementation of Programmable Logic Controllers, SCADA Systems, HMIs, Distributed Control Systems and Batch Control Systems to IEC 61508 and SIL 3 safety standards. ITS’ membership of The 61508 Association demonstrates the company’s commitment to safer working practices.
ITS has developed Emergency Shutdown Systems and Fire and Gas Systems using a range of technologies including Siemens PCS7 F systems and Siemens S7-FH failsafe high integrity processors. ITS is one of only a few integrators, fully trained by Siemens on the PCS7 F systems hardware and software, and experienced in PCS7 F system design and integration.
ITS’ safety systems offer the highest level of reliability and availability through dual redundant architecture design including dual redundant networks, I/O and hardware.
The systems monitor and collect safety-related data. This critical information can be expanded into a Management Information System or Database for reporting purposes.
ITS’ process control team specialises in providing the following solutions to IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards, to safety critical industries such as Chemical, Nuclear, Oil and Gas, Power Generation and Utilities.
Fire and Gas Systems
ITS' Fire and Gas Systems are designed to protect the plant and plant personnel from hazardous conditions. By monitoring areas where a fire or build up of a potentially flammable gas may occur, the Fire and Gas Systems can detect hazardous events, alert personnel and initiate timely actions in order to minimise the consequences of a critical event.
Connected to a number of detectors, ITS’ Fire and Gas Systems can also interface with an Emergency Shutdown System to initiate the automatic shutdown of the plant should a hazardous event occur.
ITS’ Fire and Gas Systems can monitor conditions and collect data e.g. flame, gas, temperature rises and rates, and provide the facility to collate this data.
Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD)
ITS' Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESDs) are designed to minimise the consequences of hazardous conditions. ITS offers Emergency Shutdown Systems to Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3, in accordance with the IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 international safety standards.
The Emergency Shutdown Systems are connected to a number of detectors including Fire & Gas Systems, and can be designed to perform a number of actions if a hazardous event occurs.
ITS’ team can also design and build Emergency Shutdown Systems using a relay-based approach rather than a software-based approach.
