NVQ Assessor Training
Course Title: NVQ Assessor Training
Course Delivery: The NVQ Assessor Training Course can only be delivered at your premises. The course content can be tailored to meet your requirements.
Course Duration: 3 days
Course Overview:

To build understanding and skills in workplace assessments to National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) A1 standards.

Important notice regarding ITS’ A1 NVQ Assessor Training

ITS' NVQ A1 Assessor Training Course is only available for companies who are accredited (or working towards accreditation) to deliver NVQs as an awarding centre, by an NVQ awarding body. Each company assessor candidate must be occupationally competent in the field that they will be assessing in.

The NVQ A1 Assessor Training Course is not delivered in an open format for any individuals to attend, from different industries and organisations who are not NVQ accredited centres. Individuals cannot attend an open course for three days and qualify as an NVQ Assessor.

The NVQ A1 Assessor Course is structured over three days where a company’s delegates learn the underpinning knowledge, the process of assessment, and particularly, the format and use of their company’s own assessment documentation.

Following the course, each A1 assessor candidate starts assessing two of their own company’s registered NVQ candidates, developing a portfolio of evidence.

The assessor candidates will then be assessed through observation, over a period of time, either by ITS, another provider (e.g. college), or their own assessment team, against the A1 assessor standards. The evidence is collected and presented in a folder of evidence which will be assessed and eventually presented for final internal and external verification. Once verification has been approved the certificates for the assessor candidates can be applied for and eventually granted from the NVQ awarding body.
