Siemens Training

ITS has over 27 years’ experience in the design and implementation of Siemens S7 PLCs in the Automotive, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Nuclear, Petrochemical, Power, Utilities and Tobacco industries. ITS’ trainers are dedicated to sharing their expertise in Siemens' SIMATIC S7 PLC programming through a range of technical Siemens S7 training courses.

ITS has designed a range of Siemens S7 training courses covering the following key modules: Program Creation & Hardware Configuration, Creating Programs, Blocks OBs, FCs etc., Profibus Communications, Ladder, Statement List & Function Block, Block Structure, Uploading Programs, Symbols & Annotation, Module Information, CPU Properties, Monitoring Variables, Timers, Counters, Data Blocks, Mathematical Functions, User Defined Data Types, Program Storage, Archiving & Retrieval, Profibus Settings & Network View, Cross References, Program Faults OBs, Using an Interrupt, Data Files, Indirect Addressing and Messages.

The Siemens S7 courses provide the learners with the skills and knowledge to enable them to diagnose, fault-find and maintain the systems, in a safe and competent manner. The courses are delivered using presentations and interactive practical sessions. The learners participate and practice using a training system, while the trainer reinforces the learning with examples.

  • The Siemens S7 (200 Series) course aims to provide engineers and technicians with the knowledge and skills to enable them to diagnose, fault-find and maintain Siemens S7 (200 Series) Programmable Logic Controllers, in a safe and competent manner. The course provides the learners with the skills to write simple software code, configure the hardware and enter comments.
  • The Siemens S7 (2-Day) Course provides learners with the skills to diagnose, fault-find and maintain Siemens S7 (300 Series) Programmable Logic Controllers. The course provides the learners with the skills to write simple software code, configure the hardware and enter comments. The learners will gain confidence in connecting the programming software to the PLC processor, and monitoring the PLC software using the live software or a table of variables.
  • The more advanced Siemens S7 (3-Day) Course covers the same topics as the S7 (300 Series) course on day 1 and 2, however the final day focuses on S7 programming. The extra programming modules covered on the final day include Data Files (User Defined Data Types), Searching Programs, Writing of and Calling Functions and Function Blocks (FB, FCs), Program Fault Routine Handling (OBs etc), Indirect Addressing, Assign remote I/O addresses (such as Profibus I/O) and Peer-to-peer Communications. These modules will provide the learners with the skills and confidence to carry out Siemens S7 PLC programming tasks in their day-to-day maintenance activities.
  • The Siemens S7 1200 TIA Portal Training (3-Day) Course aims to provide engineers and maintenance technicians with the knowledge and skills to understand Siemens TIA Portal using S7 1200 platform PLCs. The course provides the learners with the knowledge to navigate menu options, add devices and networks, edit program blocks, access devices online and download programmes. Delegates will also be introduced to the TIA web server, online offline program checks, PLS tags and TIA simulation mode as well as operations using Factory IO Simulator.
