SOP Training
Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs) are a fundamental pre-requisite part of any quality management system in healthcare research and development, manufacturing, veterinary medicines and NHS facilities including blood banks and the National Blood Service.
Strict procedures must be consistently followed by operational and other staff to ensure products and treatments are always fit for purpose and public health is always protected.
SOPs are consistently listed in EU GMP guidelines, FDA and other countries’ regulations, yet organisations frequently neglect their importance, development, use and management, thereby putting their products, business and public health at risk. Regulatory audit reports such as FDA warning letters, include such citations as ”SOPs were missing,” ”SOPs not followed” and “SOPs being used did not reflect the current practice.”
Industrial Technology Systems has extensive knowledge of the subject and offers the following SOP writing courses to help with SOP development:
- Writing SOPs Training for the Healthcare Industry one-day course puts Standard Operating Procedures into perspective explaining what they are, how and why they can work well, and methods for writing them. Also included is how to develop SOP training requirements.
- How to Write SOPs two-day course incorporates the one-day course content and expands the topic further with best practices in using pictures, diagrams and visual information, the importance of training to SOPs, and advanced guidance on how to consistently write clear, easily understood and effective procedures.
- SOPS and Training Essentials two-day course incorporates the one-day course content and develops the topic by reviewing the training cycle, looking at regulatory compliance issues, understanding different approaches to learning evaluation, and discussing SOP revisions and how to assess levels of training requirements.
- SOPs and Training the Trainer three-day course incorporates the one-day course content with specialist delivery addressing how to identify and accommodate diverse learning styles, recalling key one-to-one training areas, writing instruction and training plans, employing a range of questioning techniques, developing listening skills, delivering training sessions and assessing learners through observation and questioning.
- Compliance, SOPs and Training Essentials Programme is a three-day course designed to provide learners with a basic understanding of cGMP, the knowledge and skills to create effective SOPs and an understanding of how to deliver successful SOP-related training activities, meeting regulatory compliance. It comprises Introducing GMP (Day 1), How to Write SOPs (Day 2), and Training Related Essentials (Day 3) – each can be taken as a separate course, or combined to make a two- or the full three-day course.
