Tim MacLaren is an accomplished senior leader with extensive experience in servicing highly regulated industries and critical national infrastructure across automation and digital technologies. Tim has a history of building high performing operational teams to deliver optimal success for customers whilst developing the people in his teams.
He has deep expertise in service delivery, operations management and digital transformation, all underpinned with a focus on the customer experience to enable great partnerships to be built.

What inspired you to pursue a career with ITS, and how did you get started in this field?
ITS is on a fantastic growth journey and has a long standing legacy and when the opportunity arose to be part of leading the next phase of the company I jumped at the chance. I started in this area about a decade and a half ago when I changed careers from working as a police officer to starting as a systems engineer with a focus on real-time data. From there I developed a career that saw me create support services, manage business units, and work across energy, nuclear, and various other sectors.
What do you enjoy most about working at ITS, and what sets you apart from other automation businesses in the industry?
What is clear about ITS is the people are incredibly passionate about delivering success for their clients and their team work is excellent. The culture and values at ITS are visible in the people and how they operate.
What do you like to do outside of work to unwind and recharge, and how do you balance your personal and professional life?
I have a young family so spending time with them is important but I also focus on my health and fitness, keeping fit really helps balance the challenges of the personal and professional lift and gives a healthy mind.
As a family we enjoy watching ice hockey and having recently moved to the area to work at ITS, we’re looking forward to seeing lots of new games and teams. You may also find me building Lego models, especially those related to Formula 1, it’s a great way to unwind and get some real downtime.
